Hi Debbie,
Thanks for asking. I'm fine. Back in March of this year I decided to make
an appointment with my family doctor. I'm menopausal and one day
in early March I had a small amount of spotting for one day. I went on
the internet and read that if this happens one should go and see you
doctor immediately to rule out certain things. My family doctor gave me
a referral for a blood test and a pelvic ultrasound which included a transvaginal ultrasound. Don't know if that's the same as a sonogram.
Anyway, the tv ultrasound revealed the possibility of an endocervical polyp.
I was then given a referral from my family doctor to an obgyn who actually specializes in high risk pregnancies. The gynecologist scheduled me for
an endometrial biopsy. It was done within two weeks of my first appointment with my doctor to rule out cancer. The obgyn was very
forthcoming about the possibility of cancer. She doubted it was a
possibility but it had to be ruled out.  I had the endometrial biopsy and
I got the results two weeks later and the results of the biopsy was normal.
I wish you the best. It's probably nothing , but it's best to get things
checked.  I was lucky in the sense that my doctor's nurse told me exactly
what to do to prepare for the endometrial biopsy.. The best of luck. Eve

just wanted to know how all came out. I am post menopausal for almost 2 yrs had some small amount of spotting 2 weeks ago a week after sex. the np said it was coming from my uterus and I have a transvaginal sonogram tomorrow. never had issues before. I also noticed my breast were very tender prior to all this and had a lot of white discharge. sorry if its too graphic.

Eve is correct.  Any bleeding after menopause is not considered normal and should be checked out.  Make an appointment with your GYN.

Hi chipper0327,

Definitely make an appointment with your family doctor and get this
checked out. I'm menopausal myself. A similar thing happened to me
earlier this year. It was only one day. I actually googled bleeding after
menopause. Every single website about this topic said go and see
your doctor immediately. So I made an appointment as quickly as
possible with my family doctor. She reassured me that it was probably
nothing but certain things had to be ruled out.  She gave me a requisition
form for a blood test and a requisition form for a pelvic ultrasound.
Anyway, don't be worried. Just go and speak to your family doctor and
get this checked out. I wish you well. Eve
