Sky High Fsh

Please can someone help explain why i have such a high FSH level?

I am 48, and am aware i am in the menopausal age range, but i was in complete shock when my blood work came back as FSH of 100.   My last period was only 3/4 months ago and my mother was in her 50s when she started.

I know i have been under immense stress and travel alot, but i was gob smacked when my blood work came back with such a high level for my age. I am not 70 yet, lol, ..... or post menopausal as i have had  periods in last 12 months. So why is it so high when most people my age have around 40s?

Could it be stress or is this normal for my age?

How high is sky high?
It could be a rare LH/FSH pituitary tumor - but those are pretty rare.

I would get checked out for all your hormones - even all your androgens and find out the source. A neuro-endo would be best.
