Wanting to restart hrt

In 2012 I was 39 and had a hysterectomy ovaries removed. My Dr put me on premarin and said he wanted me on it for 10 years. I took it for only 2 and quit. I don't know why. I hadn't had any problems until a few months ago. Insomnia is bad, sweats at night, anxiety, moodiness and low depression. Now I'm wanting to see about getting back on it. I'm 45 now. Any advise? Has anyone done this?

I had a hysterectomy at age 49 and have been on estrogen ever since (12 years so far). I'm not sure I could function without it. I was a basket case until I found the "right" form and dose of estrogen.

What gynecologists fail to acknowledge and many women do not realize is that the ovaries are health "powerhouses." They produce hormones a woman's whole life, with estrogen falling but testosterone gradually increasing in the post-meno years. Ovary removal (or failure after hysterectomy) has been shown to increase our risk for many health problems and chronic illnesses. So it doesn't make sense to 1) remove ovaries absent cancer as is done far too often, and 2) to stop taking hormone therapy at the natural age of menopause if you've had a hysterectomy and/or oophorectomy.

Best to you in getting relief from these debilitating symptoms.
