GNU or Prostatitis? Tried a bunch of anbtiobotics with little effect?

I would really appreciate any doctors or fellow sufferers feedback on this one.

The Beginning : Week 1
So 5 weeks ago, I got some massage oil onto my penis / around the urethra. It felt a little irritated shortly thereafter.

Then : Week 2
So I feel a burning sensation in my urethra, and a feeling of discomfort around my testes / prostate area.

I am given a weeks course of nitrofurantoin. Meanwhile I take STD tests for Gonorrhea, chlamydia, UTI and HIV etc. All of these came back negative.

Week 3 -
Symptoms are persistant - particularly the burning sensation. I am then given a weeks course of Ciprofloxacin, which makes little difference. I am also given a Fluconazole tablet for Thrush (just in case.)

At this time I also notice a reddish / irritated area around my urethra on the glans, some of the skin is shiny / wrinkly darker/ sometimes red patch. Doctor considers this irritation (But its been there now for 5 weeks.) It resembles 'some' if the milder symptomatic images I've seen of psoriasis of the glans.

Week 4 - Cipro fails, and I'm offered Aithromycin. This helps to remove the uncomfortable sensations around the prostate / testes area. But struggles to resolve the burning tip of the penis / urethra.

Incidentally... the burning sensation is most apparent, when I am seated. I assume / squished prostate might exaccerbate symptoms? Curious I have none around the prostate, but that it effects the penis tip sensations.

-

So it as it stands by course of Azithromycin has ended. I am on referral to a urologist.

My question is this gents,

1) Would it be advisable to try doxycycline?

2) Could there be a relation to the irritated skin on the glans (I've not used soapy water / any irritants for over 2 weeks.)

3) Tests have confirmed nothing so far, some new ones are pending (swab, urine, blood)
