Blood in semen then urine

Hello,

I started noticing Blood in my semen drop by drop then gradually the semen totally turned bloody. i used couple of antibiotics and finasteride but nothing changed. After about 4 month i started seeing blood in urine and i also realised that when i do a bowel movement and strain is when i see most blood in urine. i dont have any other symptoms and i have done multiple test like MRI AND CT SCAN. below are my test result, please help!!

1.  Symmetric geographic T2 hypointensities seen in the peripheral
zone in the mid gland to apex most consistent with prostatitis.  No
suspicious prostate lesions are seen.
2. T1 hyperintensity seen in the seminal vesicles, left more than
right are consistent with blood products in keeping with patient's
history of hematospermia.
3.  1.6 cm T1 dark, T2 intermediate cystic structure with no
enhancement seen at the superior aspect of the left seminal vesicle
is indeterminate and may represent a herniated portion of the seminal
vesicle versus a fluid collection

Thanks

Hello and welcome to MedHelp's forums.  I'm glad you are working with your doctor on this matter as that is always best.  Have you had a follow up as of yet to discuss your test findings?

We appreciate the information that is shared by kkristy and just want to add to that.  What is your age?  That is meaningful in evaluation as being 40 or under is when this more commonly occurs and when it typically goes away with no treatment.  We do agree that seeing blood at these times is always disconcerting and provokes anxiety.  But most often, in this age group, it is not a major health concern.

If you are over 40, then it often will need to be treated. As mentioned, infection is a leading cause of blood in semen as is trauma.
It looks like from the information you have provided that you have some issues going on that does explain the blood in semen.  Has your doctor said this to you and does he have any recommendations for treatment?

Hello,  Thank you so much for your response. I am 33 years and i have done 2 CT scans and 3MRIs and the result shows that all my systems including kidney, liver prostrate etc are all fine except for the small blood particle they said they saw in my seminal vesicle. I have gone to 3 urologist and most of them are tired and dont know what to do. i have done urine test and there are no infcetions and no cancer. I did a cytoscopy and testicle check as well but all was negative.

Hey,this is the most common cause of blood in the semen. Blood can come from an infection or inflammation, in any of the glands, tubes, or ducts that produce and move semen from the body. These are some  semen fact :
Blood in the semen is known as hematospermia.
Prostate biopsy is the most common cause of blood in the semen.
Blood in the semen can be caused by tumors, infections, anatomical abnormalities, stones, or inflammation in many sites throughout the genitourinary system.
Usually blood in the semen is benign and resolves on its own.
Treatment, if indicated, depends upon the underlying cause.
In most cases, hematospermia has no underlying cause, is benign, self-limited, and no treatment is required.
so consult the doctor .

Thank You
