Late/slow Viagra generic effect

I find 100 mg (max) helpful but erection weak and short lived.  I take as directed and have tried between 1 hour and 4 hours before sexual activity.  Yet, much later say at a wakeup at 4 AM or 7 AM I often find I have a firm hard erection.  Does that make sense relative to Viagra (generic).  Should I try taking medication several hours before anticipated activity?

According to Viagra's absorption in the body, it is recommended to take it 30 minutes to 1 hour before the sexual activity. Older patients, due to slow drug absorption, need to take 1 hour or more in advance.

As I have read yet strong erection occurs several hours later and with no apparent stimulation other than sleeping a few hours with my woman.  No "wet dreams" that I remember.  Maybe a nap not a pill is what I need.  I am a senior ++
