Penis weird redness

I have had this red weird condition of my penis for a year and a half. I was sexually active at the time, but I am sure it isn't STD, because that's the first girl I have been with, and I was her first too. It started with red bumps all over under my foreskin, and they were not exactly itchy, but kind of sore, and they disappeared in a day or two. And just as I relaxed, I noticed that the edge of my glans started swelling slightly, and just redness returned. I went to the doctor, he looked at it and he actually thought that I was just imagining the swelling, it seemed normal to him, but they did a test and it came back positive for fungal infection. After those sore bumps, there was no itching, pain, anything except the look of it. He said I should use Canesten cream two times a day for two weeks.

Shortly after that, I got mononucleosis, and was hospitalised for 10 days. I continued using Canesten but it didn't do anything, that I noticed. After I got home from hospital I had to rest, and I wasn't feeling up to going to doctor again. And I didn't have any symptoms other then that redness, and even my girlfriend didn't notice it until I pointed it out, but she thought it's just redness from irritation. It really bothered me. I never went back to see doctor about it.

3 weeks ago I decided to do something so I bought Lamisil cream, cause I thought it sure must be fungal, because the test said so year and a half back. I have been using it for 3 weeks now, twice a day, and before I go to sleep, I put zinc cream also, I read that its good against inflammation and it keeps the skin dry. After first week there were slight improvements, mainly less redness. And I started looking closer, I noticed that the red patch under my glans is like made of tiny red lines, that go from the edge of my glans down the foreskin. Most red areas are around frenulum and just under glans, mainly on the upper side. Most improvement I noticed around frenulum, it's a lot less red. I was sure that by 3 weeks I would see more improvement.

I will put a picture, if you look carefully you can see the tiny red lines. Also you can see a pale patch of skin there in the red, that patch was like that since the beginning, I don't know why it isn't red like surrounding skin, It's weird. Did someone else had something like this? Should I continue my treatment, and how long could it take to fully heal if it really is fungal? Any advice is appreciated.
