Sleeping and Chest Tightness

For the last month or so I have had chest pains (chest tightness etc) and have been waking up during the night struggling to breath. I have had severe night sweats and this is something I am very worried about. Was wondering if anyone else suffers from this and could tell me what i may be. Would like to add that I am an anxious person so not sure if it is getting made worse because of this.

Hello and welcome to the forum.  I'm sorry to read that this is happening.  Anyone who suffers chest pain and tightness should be evaluated as soon as possible by a doctor.  You really need to rule out a cardiovascular reason for this.  Once you do that, you can look at other reasons people wake at night with chest pain and tightness.  Things like acid reflux, anxiety, issues with cartilage in your ribs, gall bladder or pancreas problems.  However, because this could also indicate angina or heart attack, you should be seen by a doctor.  Here I some information on angina.  https://www.webmd.com/heart-disease/heart-disease-angina  Please let me know what your doctor says.

I know this is bit off base but , I had a triple bypass 16 month ago and my chest still feels tight ,like someone is is pushing on my chest.i heard that in some folks it here to stay.the "experts"of course say it will go away.(if I live that long ) lol
Hey adapete1, I'd tell your doctor that you still have tightness in your chest.  But that's some major major surgery and probably takes a long time to recover.  I have read that the chest wall can take a very long time to heal but DOES heal. Working with a cardio rehab specialist or physical therapist might help as they can give you some stretching and strength exercises to aid in this.
hey guitar rox
my cardioligistis aware of that and he also says it can take a LONG time.i had x rays and cat scans since then.all looks go0d, ecxept.for my ipf of course.the lung will get me way before the heart.well i could get a heart attac during my coughin spells.lol
