Supporting my boyfriend

We found out this weekend that my long-term boyfriend (22) has a 208 testosterone level. After researching all morning, I feel like I have a general idea of what comes with low T and also the pros and cons of TRT. My problem now, is I don't have any idea how to comfort him. There are so many different ways that this can go, and side effects that could completely change our relationship. From a male's point of view, how can I help? I know that I can't take it away, but I want to support him in any way that I can.

Hi,
And what was your new T level?, and could you find out why your T level was low, like some irreversible problem with the testicles ? At the age of 30 years, especially if you want to have children in future, it is better to find out and correct the underlying cause for low T, rather than simply going for T substitution.
I would suggest you to consult an experienced Endo and get your complete hormone levels evaluated first.

I am in my late 30's and was diagnosed with low T this year.  My "normal" level was in the 250's.  My doc prescribed testosterone injections and after adjusting my dose (up to 1ml every two weeks), I was still having issues with depression and ED.  Viagra and Cialis fixed the ED, and Wellbutrin helped with the depression... but I'm still working on that.

Hi,
Thank you for the feedback. It is true that if he is overweight, reducing the weight with diet control and regular exercise will help to push up the T level. Is it possible for you to let me know his LH, free T, Estrogen, and SHBG levels along with the Lab's reference values? Also how is his cholesterol and blood glucose levels? Is he known to have a fatty liver?

He did get the whole health scan. His LH and FSH were also low. Everything else was right around normal range. He has a really hard time losing weight, which the doctor said a big part of that could be the low T. He drinks, but not enough to do damage, especially not that much. He also has sleep apnea.

Hi,
How is his general health and sexual health status in particular? He may need to repeat the test in the morning again to confirm there is no error in the lab data. Did he do a complete hormone test including LH, FSH, estrogen, thyroid levels, prolactin, cortisole etc., and if so, how are those levels? Does he have any health issues with circulatory system, digestive system etc.or does he  or did he engage in alcohol or drug abuse?  At his young age, a complete health evaluation is to be done before any decision is taken to correct his low T level by brute force logic.
