Is it possible to have vastly different BP reading in both arms and what could cause this.  Romona

Hi, Thank you so much for taking trouble to reply to my query re Different BP in each arm.  This is actually in relation to my son, who told me result of his reading.   Now that you have given me an idea of figures, I will check with him again, and try to encourage him to visit his doctor.  My son is an intelligent man, but it is unbelievable how difficult it is to get him to do this. a small difference in blood pressure readings between arms isn't a health concern. However, a difference of more than 20 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) for systolic pressure (top number) or more than 10 mm Hg for diastolic pressure (bottom number) may be a sign of an underlying problem  such as narrowing of the main arteries to that arm. If you have a significant difference in blood pressure readings between arms, talk to your doctor.
