Yep  I've been checked down there many times and I always get an erection and the doctor says that is a sign that everything is working  right. If the doctor takes too much time checking you, you are gonna get an erection no matter what, is just the natural response of the penis  being manipulated.   Good luck.

Don't worry. This is very common and Drs are used to it.

I guess you may be quite young?...instant erections won't be so common as you get older. So life experience will help, and at least you haven't ejaculated!? as I've heard of that happening to men on checkup.
Certainly don't have caffeine or chocolate before your appt, try and relax and visualise what is going to happen before you go in so you are not nervous or caught off guard.

Yes. This happens to me at the regular doctor and at my acupuncture often. I used to be embarrassed by standing or laying there semi or fully erect wondering what they must think, are they judging my reaction or size. I’m used to it now after a few years of it happening with 2 professionals I trust and I pretty much get completely hard for them now. They are both very cool. They tell me it’s natural as others here have said, that it happens all the time, they don’t mind and it’s not inappropriate, helps them know everything’s working and looks good. Both docs use it as either an opportunity to ask about my sexual health, test the quality and angle of my erections compared to previous visits, carefully examine my shaft, check my skin and foreskin thoroughly since it’s all stretched out. It takes more time being exposed but is very reassuring. At this point I feel comfortable and confident when it happens. Makes me feel I’m getting a thorough exam and nothing is being missed. I look forward to it now. Hope this help you feel better about it.
