8 hours and no relief

I've had a migraine for going on 9 hours now, with no relief, quite the opposite in fact, its getting more intense and more severe! How long before I should start to worry? I've had migraines my entire life, but I'm worried this might not be migraine & in fact could be a result of extremely high blood pressure!

Hi and welcome to the Migraines & Headaches Community.

Have you checked your blood pressure or are you assuming it's high? If it is high then you might want to contact your doctor. If it is not high then there really is no reason to worry. Migraines can last for a week. If it has been longer than 7 days contact your doctor, otherwise here are some tips to try....
Ice or heat pack...whichever is more comfy.
Excedrin is an excellent migraine reliever.
Some sort of head wrap like bandanna or cloth headband...that little bit of pressure makes it feel better. And you can also put Mentholatum on your forehead and temples...it can be used with or without the wrap depending on how much heat you can stand (I like using with the wrap).

Keep us posted on how you are doing and I hope you feel better soon.
