Since Nov 2009 my son has suffered from episodes of bi-temporal sudden onset headaches. In the beginning he had 6 episodes/day that lasted 12 minutes and mostly occurred with increased activity. He is now having 19-35 episodes/day and night that last 10-12 minutes with or without activity. These episodes leave him screaming for help and they have destroyed his life. He describes them as a severe squeezing in both temples. Interspersed in the headache are waves of stabbing. He has no other symptoms.
He is currently under treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and at the Cleveland Clinic. To this point we do not have a diagnosis and no treatment has provided him with any releif. He has had the following tests and procedures; CAT Scan, 4 MRI's, 2 EKG's, 2 EEG's, an Echo, a Lumbar Puncture, Allergy Testing, Tilt Table Test, Treadmill test, Accupuncture, an Occipital and Super Orbital Nerve Block and extensive blood work and a very long list of medications. He has been seen by 3 Neurologist, 1 Cardiologist, 1 Opthamologist, an Optomitrist, 1 psychiatrist, 1 Psychologist, an Allergist, a Gastroenterologist, a Chiropractor and a NUCCA Chiropractor. All tests have been normal and no medications have provided releif.
We need help and don't know where to return. This is destroying my son and I don't know how to stop it. Does anyone have any idea what this might be or can you recommend a physician or hospital.
