A month ago I had a migraine. I get them infrequently, it was the first one for about three years. I was off work for a day and a half, and when I returned still had the migraine hangover, which is normal for me. However a week later I still was getting these dull headaches. I went to a doctor and have since had a CT scan and a MRI, both of which were normal. However I have now been having the headaches for about a month, it comes and goes and seems to be worse in the morning, and disrupts concentration. Occasionally I have momentary feeling of dizziness. At this point the doctor has just said come back in a couple of weeks if still occurring. Has anyone experienced anything like this after a migraine? The doctors have said it is likely just an atypical migraine, but I have never experienced headaches for this long a period and it is quite worrying, I tend to get bad anxiety at the best of times and this is making it worse. The only medication I am on is a statin which is to control cholesterol, which has been a long term problem for me since I was about 20 (I am 49 now). I have read this medication can cause headaches but I have been on it for a long while without issues. However I stopped taking it for two weeks with no improvement and have since resumed taking it. Any suggestions or advice much appreciated. Thanks.
