Intense head pain when straining

Hello!
I'm a 24 year old female, suffering from intense (10/10) pain in my head when I cough, laugh, scream, bend over/stand up, roll over in bed etc....the pain lasts about 5-6 seconds and throbs at the base of my skull and the top of my head. Started last July when I was taking Spironolactone. On a good day I experience the pain ~10 times, but on average it's about ~30-40 times a day.
In addition to the pain, I've been experiment aching limbs, my hands and feet fall asleep easily, lose my balance often, run into inanimate objects.
My family Dr told me its tension headaches and prescribed cyclobenzaprine, which aside from making me super exhausted have not helped with my symptoms.
For anyone else who has experienced this pain, what helps you? What have your doctors told you?

Hi and welcome to the Migraines & Headaches Community.
Yeah, it is tension headaches. I get them frequently myself. Try taking some Excedrin, it is excellent for tension and migraine headaches. Even though it only lasts a few seconds you still need to take Excedrin to stop them.
