Pain, numbness on left side of head, left hand and left leg

For over 11 years I have suffered pain in my head. Now it’s getting worse.

It is on the left side at the back of my head. I feel heaviness in the head (affected area), feels numb at times (on the left side of my head), and sometimes feeling heaviness in my left ear. I feel numbness in the left side of face. The pain is always there - all day every day, only the intensity differs at times. It’s there all day, night – wake up – it’s there, go to bed – it’s there. Its only when I am busy at work, I ignore it and push myself to not to let me stop. At times even a pin drop will trigger tingling/sizzle in the affected area.

I have low blood pressure, am 57 years old, 5ft 3inch tall and weight 53kg.

At times I feel nausea and even at times the saliva is same as when someone vomits (the beginning stage of vomiting). When standing up from a sitting position, I get up very slowly but still feel unstable as if I will fall.

I also have chest pain at times, sharp stabbing, grasping for breath many a times, shortness of breath, pain and tingling in my left hand, fingers and my left leg is weak. I have pain in my leg and feel numbness. Sometimes I feel as if I am inclined to the left while walking.

I see double image (like shadow of the main image approx. 2 - 3mm away from the original) with my left eye, right eye seems ok.

Many a times I mix-up words, wanting to say something else and say something else, I forget things very quickly, struggle to find words, break sentences. While talking to someone, I easily forget things like what numbers I said etc. Long term memory is good.

I had depression for approximately 4 years. I managed this and am not on any medication since 2006. For headache, my GP was treating for migraine. Tried several different tablets but no change in the symptoms. I am not taking any medication at the moment for headache. I had deep tissue massage (approximately 80 x 1 hour sessions), For a short time I felt it’s gone but it came back. Had more sessions but didn’t work so I stopped the deep tissue massage. I had been to Osteopath (approximately 45 x 1 hour sessions) – didn’t work.

I had an MRI done about 6 years ago which showed everything was clear. Had an Angiogram 2 years ago – I had 20% blockage but no treatment or stunt inserted. I had laser treatment to my eyes as a precaution against acute glaucoma and angle closing of passage. I had been to eye specialist 6 months ago (1 year after the laser treatment) and he was satisfied with the pressure in the eye and the procedure.

I had my eye checked by my Optometrist last year and was same as it was previously so no need to change my glasses. I wear glasses most of the time.

My mum (she was 74 at that time) was diagnosed with a benign tumor in the brain in 2008 but within a year it grew to golf ball size. It was successfully removed and she is well since then. My family has history of heart disease. My father passed away with Cardiac arrest at the age of 86. My mum had recently been inserted a pace maker. Her lower heart chamber was totally blocked. My younger brother has a de-defibrillator inserted and his son has a heart condition as well.

While I have been living with these symptoms, I don’t let them stop me from my work and life.

I request if someone could help me with these so I could talk to my GP and seek further treatments if necessary.

I thank everyone in advance.
