Sharp Pains in Forehead when I Stand

About two weeks ago I started having a sharp pain across my forehead when I stood up occasionally. Sometimes it was accompanied by ear whoosing. It usually only last a few seconds and then it’s done. Yesterday I stood up, the pain started, I walked one direction turned to walk back to my desk and totally passed out. Went to the ER. They did a cat scan, blood and urine test, EKG and chest X-rays and found nothing. Today I felt like I was going to pass out but was able to sit down. I have around 5-6 of theses a day although they are usually just for a few seconds.

When you saw the doctor, did they take your blood pressure when you were lying down, then sitting, then standing up?

There's something called positional headaches, or othostatic headaches. These happen often because your blood pressure changes quickly, often spiking, when you rise.

The whooshing sound can be something called Pulsatile Tinnitis, which can also be caused by high blood pressure. If your blood pressure is spiking when you stand, that could account for the whoosing sound.

There's also something called ice pick headaches - https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/317234 That might also be a fit.

Have you seen a neurologist? That should be your next step. Let us know how you are, and I'm sorry you're going through this. Headaches suck.
