Tylenol doesn't help tension headaches. Help!

I'm always having what I believe are tension headaches. I go to my physician Tuesday and hope to be referred to a neurologist, since all the ones I have tried say I need a referral. Anyways, Tylenol does not help them, like ever. Why is this?? Actually, there are times when tylenol makes it worse. I breast feed so I'm not completely sure on what I am allowed to take. I do the icy hot on my neck too, which seems to help but of course doesn't take away the headache. Just want relief!!

If the Tylenol didn't work that time, it was probably a migraine. Tylenol is basically worthless for migraines but can work on other headaches. I used to use every once in a while when I would get a headache and it worked fine. Then started migraines and of course I tried Tylenol. Didn't work! I was diagnosed with tension headaches but later was seen by a specialist and I responded very well to the triptan (migraine specific) med meaning it was migraines too. At this time I think I experience both types of headaches.

Yes! Lots of neck pain. It's horrible :(. Everyday I wake up with it and it lasts all day. There is just no relief from it. I go to my physician tomorrow about this. Hoped to be referred to a neurologist.

Power of drugs tends to fade away with time. Maybe try Ibuprofen, it's a golden standard. Do you have a neck pain? Could you describe it more precisely?
