need help

hi, i'm 29 years old suffering from migraines since a young age. went for all kinds of test nothing has been found yet the only thing i didn't do was a scan. once a cardiologist told me that i had a deformed pylorus thus after eating my digestion was so slow that it caused my migraine and heart palpitations. did anyone suffer from these types of symptoms. do you think my migraines can relate to the pylorus?
like now i'm suffering from my head for like a week and no pain killers help me or medication for my migraines make my stomach hurt so much.
please help me i don't know what to do. me and my husband want to have a family that is a baby but honestly having headaches for one week discourage me as whan the baby will cry i wont be able to take care of him or her!!!

Hi,

Thanks for writing in.
There is no direct relationship between deformed pylorus and migraine. Migraine is however known to slow digestion in some people.
Are you taking medications for migraine?
Medications like Imitrex, Zomig are very useful in aborting migraine attacks. Magnesium supplements have proved to be useful in preventing attacks. It is also important to identify a trigger for your migraines which can be food products like caffeine, red wine, aged cheese, processed meats, foods with MSG and artificial sweeteners.
It will also help if you do not eat large meals at one time, try eating multiple small meals and drink plenty of water.
Hope this helps!

I cant tell you much about your symptoms, but I wanted to let you know I'm in the same boat.  We are TTC and my headaches have been getting worse.  I do believe that migraines can be related to digestion problems, so your cardiologist may not be far off.

My only real suggestion is to find a way to ease anxiety and stress to help combat your headache.  I have begun acupuncture to help with mine and I am slowly getting better, although still having problems.  It is the first thing that has helped though!  The biggest immediate improvement was less anxiety and the ability to relax.  I'm sure you will be a great mom and your body will learn how to cope with the stress of having a baby to care for- but make sure you care for yourself first and feel better before you bring a child into it.

You could try ginger tea for your stomach and headache- it gives me some relief.
