i am a highschool female student. Recently, ive been experiencing major and minor headaches. i figured that it was because i dont get enough sleep, rest, think too much, stress, etc. but i realized that ive been resting enough, sleeping enough, even eating breakfast, eating healthy, and etc. The past month or two, i got a random headache which caused me to loose sight. it was blurry for a bit but i had and felt a sharp shock of pain in my head which lasted for awhile even though i got my sight back. sometimes these headaches will only occur only the right or left side of my brain. my friend was concerned and told me to post this up so that i can get help before i go to the hospital. so my question is: what could possibly be causing these headaches? and why is it causing me to loose sight? why is it only happening on parts of my brain? what should i do?
How are you? Was there previous trauma to your head or neck? This could be caused by primary headache such as migraine which presents with one sided throbbing headache and can be associated with nausea, vomiting, and visual symptoms. Rest, ice pack, avoidance of triggers and prescription medications may help. Try to identify the triggers by using the headache tracker in the forum or making a headache journal. If it persists, have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
