I didnt know the chances are so good.

My husband came home early this morning for an appointment he had. He told me that someone pulled out of tour and he could have been the replacement but they picked someone else (likely it will change because she doesnt know the simplest things like what ammunition her weapon fires. Seems thats a very simple yet important thing to know) He said that now its him or 2 other guys. I had no clue there was this few people on standby. Im a little more hesitant about being off birth control since he might not be able to be home for the birth of our first child. Taking care of them or being pregnant while he is over is one thing but the birth is something I really want him there for. I told him that since his chances are so high Im not sure I want to have a baby now. When I asked his opinion, he said I cant wait till we have a little baby boy to snuggle and love. I asked... what about tour. He said I really dont know if I even will go and if you get pregnant Ill pass it up the chain of command and see if I can get my HLT when you are due. I know if it really comes down to it, he can drop tour for the birth because the guy who just dropped for aprils tour, dropped cuz his wife had a baby on monday. I wouldnt mind being in this situation and have him go over in april, the baby will be 6 months old when he goes. Hubby said he wouldnt drop tour because it makes you look bad but I think when it comes to it, he wouldnt miss the birth of his child for the world.

That would be good. Im so glad we dont have to move overseas (fingers crossed we wont ever have to) Im not pregnant yet but if I do and hes scheduled to go over, hes still going. They look down on people who pull out of tour so he said no matter what he wont even if it means missing his babies birth (first for both of us). A girl he works with said I can go to the padre and he wont have to go but I know he would be mad if I stopped him from going. Im sure if he KNEW he was going and would be there while our baby s due, he would arrange to be here for the birth at least.

Thats great that your hubby will be there for the birth. I really hope you get more time with him after tour. If you ever want to rant or just want some support, message em any time sweetie.
