5+ weeks post m/c

Two days after my m/c on feb. 9th my levels were in the 300's.  One week later they were only 20.  It's been 4 weeks since my last blood draw as my dr. said he didn't need to monitor anymore since I had gotten to 20 so quickly.  I went in to have a HCG blood draw today and it came back 3.8 ugh what the heck is going on? Is it really taken 4 weeks for my body to drop from 20 to 3.8? I am doing a follow up on Monday to see if the levels are going up, possibly m/c'ing again or what......

Ugh, wow, isn't that confusing??  Now I understand why my doctor made me keep getting mine done until it got under 6.  (He wanted it under 6, but it actually was 0 the last time I had it tested.)  Thing is, not being exactly sure when I m/c (cuz I didn't know I was pregnant that time), i'm not exactly sure of the timetable.  But to my best estimate, it took about 5 weeks to get to zero after my m/c, and I was about 5-6 weeks along when it happened.  I was pregnant again about 8 day s later.  So, i think it IS possible you are pregnant again, but it definitely could still be from your loss.
All you can really do is wait for your follow-up.  Waiting s ucks!!!  Hang in there, hun.

Hi Jen

I do remember taking a pregnancy test 3 weeks after my miscarriage and it was negative.  A week later I had my blood drawn and it was 5.  I never got my blood drawn again but it can take that long for it to come down.  I do hope you are pregnant but try not to count on it so you don't get disappointed :)

It is very confusing after a miscarriage!  Goodluck

Some woman actually have some HCG in their blood at all times even when they are not pregnant - what I mean is not everyone is 0.   That is why they don't count woman being pregnant till it's over 5.
Your normal level could be 3.8
