6week pregnant had ultrasound found nothing

Hi,

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and have been spotting for 2 weeks. They took my hcg level 2 weeks ago the first was at 67 next was at 152 then 398hcg i was then sent for a u/s sound but they couldn't find nothing at all internal also. So i was sent back to the doctor and my hcg levels are still goin up but not to what they should be at. I'm still spotting somestime brown the red and brownish red somedays it will be one pad in a day then a speck of blood it varies. I'm so confused if it was ectopic pregnancy would they of seen it in my tubes when doing my u/s ? I'm so confused it's now been 3 weeks since my first blood test and i still don't have a answer :O(.

I agree with jrobertson20 my doc wont do an ultrasound until my hCG levels are at least 1500. And your hCG are more than doubling. And the bleeding as long as it's not accompanied with severe cramps and Constant red bleeding then you should be fine. Also I would get a second opinion if I were you. Don't let them push you into something you're not comfortable with. My previous doc didn't give me much answers either so I switched til I found someone who would. Try to relax. Ask for another hCG check and possibly progesterone to see if its where it should be. Your in my prayers. Keep me updated.:)

Well my MD would not schedule me until he thought my levels were above 1000.  He told me that until your numbers are about 1000 - 2000 you can't see anything at all.  When I had my first ultrasound my levels were a little over 4000 and all I could see at that time was a gestational sac.  Your numbers are doubling which is good.  The blood may just be from the baby implanting into your uterus and burrowing down in there to get really attached.  Do they have another ultrasound scheduled?  Try not to get too worried yet esp if your numbers keep doubling.  Good luck.

It may be a blighted ovum, which causes your hcg levels to rise as if you were pregnant, and also can cause pregnancy symptoms, but there is never an embryo.  Or could you possibly be very early on in your pregnancy?  I would seek a second opinion, because you should not have to be waiting this long to get an answer.  The waiting is awful I know, and I hope you get an answer soon, and everthing goes well for you!
