Im sorry to hear that. Your period will return when your hcg level goes back to 0, it will happen quicker now that youve had the d&c. It may seem like a long time to wait but emotionally it will help, you need time to deal with your feelings before trying again. Im sorry for your loss
Well, sadly I did go into natural labor and delivered the sac and baby (what was left of the little one anyway). It was awful...but then I started hemorrhaging....it would not stop. I ended up in the ER and they did a sonogram and blood work (my levels were down in the 8,700 range). They discovered that I still had placenta and other parts left in me so they had to do an emergency D & C :(( I tried so hard to avoid it but it is what it is. At least the bleeding now has slowed down. They have said I am fine to try again after my next normal period but sometimes a period may not come for up to 12 weeks :(((
Im so sorry for your loss. Take this time to grieve, cry, yell, talk to family/friends/your partner, it will all help. your levels are still high so it may take a couple of weeks for them to drop back to 0. If you want to try again quickly then a natural loss is the way to go as you have to wait at least 3 months after a d&c (which isnt always a bad thing as its good time to de-stress and try to feel normal again, the d&c will also help stop the bleeding and lower hcg quicker but its a personal choice). Only you and your partner will know the best time to try again.
I ended up getting my blood work done, 72 hours apart. The first results were 19700 but I have not received the second set of results back. Sadly, I am starting to bleed- not a lot-but enough to make me believe that this is definitely a miscarriage and not the miracle I still held out hope for. Now I am praying that I will fall pregnant again after I get my normal cycle back and we can try again...which may be months before that happens though. I miss my baby terribly and I keep trying to focus on the fact that the baby is in heaven but it's so hard.
Im sorry you are going through this. I recommend you have some blood tests to see what your levels are doing (going up or down) and then decide if you wait, i think its unlikely that you miscarried without any bleeding. My first pregnancy turned out to be a blightem ovum, we found out at 7 weeks, everything was fine, numbers rising perfectly, no bleeding, lots of nausea but unfortunatly it just wasnt to be. I waited 2 weeks in the hope something changed but it didnt, my bloods kept rising but no change on the ultrasound so i opted for the d&c, basically the placenta had formed so thats what was creating the hcg rise and making my body think everything was ok.
Talk to your dr about your options, get your bloods checked 2 more times 3 days apart to see whats happening.
Make c sure u. Wait at least three months....my doctor said there is more chance to have another miscarriage if u dont
Thank you for your responses. I am praying that I can move on from this pregnancy and conceive a healthy baby soon, although I am worried now my age is playing a huge factor :(
I meant to add I think it's a good thing to wait to miscarry. That way, there is no doubt in your mind what happened, and you will never have that nagging doubt that you were carrying a newer pregnancy.
Hoping, your story resonates with me. I had two early miscarriages - one at about 12 weeks and one at about 8. I too have a tilted uterus, but I'm not sure that was a factor. I also had three healthy full term pregnancies.
My doc said it's a good sign when your body gears up and hangs on to a pregnancy - you have every reason to expect the next pregnancy will go well.
Best wishes. I know this is hard.
