Miscarriage

I was supposed to be 9 wks pregnant this week.  i had slight spotting for 3 days now.  i visited the doctor today and the ultrasound show that i am only 6 wks.  is this normal or is it a sign of a miscarriage.  i have been put on medication for ten days.  will the fetus survive or is it all a waste of time.  the doctor says that we must wait for ten days and then see if all is ok.

TTC is such a personal decision you need to make with your DH. I know how excited you probably were and all the day dreaming you had done, but know that it is possible for you ttc now or in the future. There is no rush to this decision and this time won't be a surprise and it will be a gift. Some people wait and some like myself want ttc right away. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask them.
Have you had AF?

There is a journal on my page that you might want to read called Spirit Baby...It gave me a new sense of hope after my m/c when I was thinking of ttc again. If it is what you want in your heart then I would say go for it!

I have only bled and spotted for 2days after the dnc.  This was a very surprised pregnancy since i had no time to recover from a gallbladder operation in september with complications.  please advise me if i should consider ttc.

I had a very similar thing happen to me, but I was 11 weeks and the baby was only 6 weeks. I had my d & c on Nov 13th and I am still spotting brown. I hope it will end soon. We have decided to ttc after my first AF. Do you have any plans?

I'm so sorry.  I know there is no worse feeling than being pregnant, and then not being pregnant, but with no baby to nurture. I wish you a fast recovery physically so that you can concentrate on your emotional well-being as well.

I finally went to my own gynaecologist the next day for a second opinion.  we did an ultrasound and found that the fetus had no heartbeat which had stopped from a week ago according to the doctor. i had a dnc done the next day and now i am recovering, childless.

Were you TTC?  If you weren't you really could be off on your days.  I know how hard waiting can be, but hang in there and please post here if you just need to talk.  Good luck!

Have you had an u/s done prior to this one? If so was the baby the right size then? I have been in this situation twice with 2 different outcomes. The first time I ended up being off on my dates...The second was a missed m/c. So don't give up hope yet!

Is it possible to have your O date off?  It is entirely possible to be off on your dates if AF isn't regular.  They will want you to wait for 10 days to see if there is any growth and how much.  I had generally the same scernio, although without a good outcome.  I m/c in Aug at 9 weeks.  I don't want to scare you, everything could be perfectly ok.  But I do know what the wait is like.  From one appt to the other was excruicitating not knowing what is going on.  The only thing for you to do at this point is to take one day at a time, and try to relax (I know so much easier said then done).  What type of medication did they put you on?  I wish you the best of luck and please let us know what you find out.
