Is it a false alarm or is it my period?

It was 5 weeks to the day since the D&E, and 10 weeks since the m/c. Last night I start to have deep cramps, go to the bathroom and see evidence of AF! I am so excited I run in and tell my husband jumping up and down. Today, it's very very very spotty.   Normally (if I can remember what normal was it seemed so long ago) I get really bad cramps and bleed heavily for 3 days. So far cramps aren't bad, but the bloating is, and my skin is breaking out more than usual. I've read that most woman have one of the worst periods in their life after a miscarriage. Am I just lucky or was it a false alarm?

The only thing I can think of that would be effecting it is that about 2 weeks ago I joined a gym and have been working out pretty intensely every morning. Any thoughts are much appreciated.  Thanks!

Thanks for your comments. I am SO hoping for a BFP - but I'm afraid of having to deal with the disappointment or God for bid another m/c.

My first AF after D&C was definitely not the worst period I'd ever had.  It was actually lighter.  I didn't have a second one, since I got my BFP on the second month.  Good luck, and let's hope you're just lucky.

talk about the worst period in my life!!!! I was worried my cervix had closed again like it did after my D&C and I was having AF cramps with no AF for the second time. after a day of bad cramps and then a night of tortures pain AF came yesterday morning. But every woman is different and I cant say that your pain should be the same as what mine was like. you may just have been lucky and not got a bad one. I am guessing that it is AF. you may not have the same symptoms like you used to or it might just take a few to get back to what it was like. maybe you will get a BFP before your next AF is even due!!!! :-)
