Miscarriage & Phentermine

I miscarried last Wednesday Nov. 21 at 8 weeks & 3 days.  My pregnancy was totally unplanned.  I'm 39 will be 40 on 12-3.  I started taking Phentermine for weight loss in June and am down 54 pounds.  When I found out I was pregnant I stopped taking the drug.  However, I was pregnant for 3 weeks before I knew, so I was taking the Phentermine that whole time.  I know everything I've read said there is no link between miscarriage and the weight loss pill Phentermine.  I was just wondering if anyone else on this forum may have taken this pill as well and suffered a miscarriage.  I know they say not to blame yourself, and I'm not (actually I'd prefer it was the Phentermine or the caffeine or the hard workouts I had before I knew I was pregnant so I could still have hope of a healthy pregnancy next year).  The ironic thing is that before I got pregnant I had come to the conclusion I didn't have a biological clock going off and I was fine with the idea of not having children.  However, now it's all I can think about.  I know my hormones are crashing etc. but again it's all I can think about.

Yes,  I was taking phentermine and I was pregnant and did not know I was 7 1/2 weeks along. I stop taking the pills and two weeks later I miscarried on 10/15/21.

I am 39 and same thing happened ot me. I was taking a pill once a day for 3 weeks then found out I was pregnant. Nothing stops those cravings right. So anyway, I stopped taking them immediately. I miscarried at 10 weeks along. The doctors are telling me my fertility level is like .01. I don't drink, smoke or do any drugs. I don't understand why everyone in my family has kids but me. I too was ok with the thought of not having any then low and behold I saw my babys heart beat for the first time and felt emotions and feelings I never knew existed. I am now obsessed with having a baby and not sure if I can or not. Praying to God that he has my heart and soul in His big hands and he will see me thru.

I took phentermine for the first 3 weeks... but you have to realize you are not even pg the fist two these are just the first two weeks after you period and before ov... so the week I did take it the baby was getting ready to implant and thus not connected to anything that would make the phentermine pass to the baby... good luck.. don't feel bad

I don't know about the phentermine.  i am sorry for your loss.  i had suffered a m/c almost 3 years ago at age 35.  i thought that there would be no trouble w/ having a baby when i wanted one.  I m/c at 8 weeks as well.  I went on to have a healthy baby boy who is now 15 mths.  We tried again after him and m/c at 6 weeks and had an ectopic just a few weeks ago.  I am getting nervous now.  I will be 38 in one week!!!  I keep worrying how long it will take if ever.  I just wanted to let you know that your thoughts are all valid.  But to let you know, I work in radiology and I see women/girls every day lose children at allllllllllllllll ages....even teens and twenties.  It reminds me to stop being so hard on myself.  Have faith and know that it will happen.  :)  Some days it is hard, thank god for the forum and all these wonderful girls.  :)
