Not ready to be pregnant again

21 AMUser
Hello, I just had a D&C procedure on Monday, 6 days ago. Last night, drinking, I had sex unprotected with my significant other. He withdrew before he ejaculated but I know how easy it is to get pregnant after a D&C. Is it safe to take plan B?

You can take plan B up t 72 hours after the episode and it's effective.  Yes, you may be in a situation of an overload of hormones.  It's very doubtful that you'd begin ovulating in time for this situation to end up resulting in pregnancy but since it can happen and you indicate that you don't want that, then ya, plan B will solve it.  Be prepared though.  Your hormones are going to fluctuate greatly.  You had the D&C which causes hormonal blips and then adding major hormones with Plan B.  Women are usually at least 2 to 3 months irregular after plan b by itself.  You will need to be vigilant and super good about using condoms.  But Plan B should work and sounds like a good decision for you.
