Period after miscarriage

I had a miscarriage on August 1st.  It was natural - no D&C.  The bleeding lasted 3 weeks (and that is not including the spotting for a week before I actually miscarried).  I've seen my doctor and everything seems to be normal.  It was just bad luck.  She said I needed to wait for my first period and then try again.  Well, it came on September 1st.  It seemed to taper off after a week - which is a long period for me.  Then a few days later it started again.  At this point I have been bleeding or spotting for two weeks.  Has anyone had a natural miscarriage and experienced something similar?  The information I find says that everyone is different but I can tell you none of my friends have experienced anything like this with their miscarriages.  Thanks in advance!

I had a miscarriage 2 years ago and I was bleeding for 70 days when it was all said and done. After bleeding for 13 I seen my doctor and found out i was pregnant. After that i continued to bleed until finally losing the baby. I did it natural and never had a D&C done. After 70 days of bleeding I finally seen the remains of the baby come out. So, it may be possible. Just watch it and if you are worried consult your doctors always!
