Possible miscarriage?

I'm unsure if it's just blood clots or not, just thought I'd get some answers before seeing someone...

My period was late about three in a half weeks and just started two nights ago.
Yesterday I took my tampon out and forgot to put one back in and I can usually do that for an hour and didn't realize until I was pouring, so I ran home from work and decided to wipe up and take a bath. When I was relaxing I saw what looked like blood clots floating in the bath and I freaked out and grabbed two pieces I saw.
They almost felt like jelly.
(On my period usually my first day is pretty light and I don't bleed in the bath or showers.)
I hopped out of the shower and put it on a napkin and took a picture of it and sent it to my mom and grandma.
My mother thinks it's nothing to really worry about and my grandmother thinks its a miscarriage.

My periods are the same almost every month - They start, they're normal blood flow, never had clots, I never have any cramps and if i do they're minor, and they last for four days.

This period was way late, the pregnancy tests were negative, I have cramps, I'm in a little pain, my flow is a little heavy, and I'm either clotting or miscarrying.

I'm not on any sort of birth control and we don't use protection, I'm 22 living with my boyfriend and working in a high stress job.

Any answers would be great... Thank you.
