Very confused and unsure of....

My sister in law just found out she was pregnant about 4 weeks ago. she went to the Dr last Friday and the four days before that she had very light spotting and a few cramps but not very painful ones. she has had a few miscarriages before her girls was born. and this is a new Dr in the new town she is living in. he sent her to have her blood work that Friday then sent her again on Sunday to check her levels. he called Monday and said the levels had dropped and she had a miscarriage. did give her any other info. she has not had any cramping or bleeding since the day before her Dr. appointment. I'm not sure if the Dr is correct on this. should he check her hormones again? or do a ultra sound? or maybe she should just go to another Dr.?   I told her to get about 3 test and take one and if its positive to take 1 in five days and if that one was positive take the last one in five days. and if it is still positive to go to the Dr. or find a new Dr. I also told her that if the Line on the test is looking more faded each time she tool it her levels was dropping............ Anyone have any help on this?  We are both very stumped on this and her Dr is no help cuz she hasn't got approved for her insurance yet!

It's crummy when the doc doesn't tell you anything.  That's how it was with my last m/c. My levels had dropped and they told me that was it, I'd m/c and didn't need to come back unless I had problems.  I hadn't had any bleeding at all and no pain up til then.  About a week or so later, I started bleeding, but I never did have any pain.  I took pregnancy tests until mine came back negative just to make sure my hcg had gone back to 0.

I like your suggestion of the pregnancy tests, if she can wait like that.  If she wants to know for sure tho then I'd probably call another doc or go to the hsp like what was mentioned above. She can even go to one of those walk in clinics that people go to for school physicals and such and get them to do bloodwork for her.

As long as that heartbeat keeps going you should be ok. Sometimes the dates are really off at the start. I had different HCG reading up untill 12 weeks. It freaked me right out nothing made sense! The heart rate is a bit low but there is still one so keep thinking positive.
At 8 weeks you should be able to see something on the U/S and then maybe they will have more info for you. But yeah, it's a crazy waiting game, but try not to stress. Stressing out is not good for the baby. No matter what happens it is nothing you can control if the pregnancy does abort. Do what you can, eat well, try to think positive. Maybe it will work out fine.

Good luck to you I hope it does!
