confused after d and c

at the beginning of november after 5 ultrasound scans i found out my baby wasnt growing and had no heartbeat. it measured 4mm so after waiting to miscarry naturally nothing happened and i decided to have a d and c. After my d and c i bled for a week and a half and then a week later i went to my doctor as i noticed some brown discharge, i was told i had an infection following my d and c and given 2 lots of tablets to take. i finished the course of tablets and the discharge stopped, then about 4 days later i started to bleed which im assuming was my period. this lasted for a week,it stopped for 3 days and then i bled for another 3 days after that. ive stopped bleeding now but 3 days ago i started with a pain in my stomach on the left hand side, ive been doubled over in pain so went to my local walk-in centre. they gave me more tablets and said they think its an infection again, i dont see how it can be another infection. im really worried now incase its something bad. i dont know if i should go to the hospital for a second opinion? has anyone else had any similar problems after they have had a d and c?

I just want to let you know that the pain does not have to be on your right side. Infact for a few days mine was on the left then it went all over. It also was a burning pain after eating. I didnt get the "classic" symptoms either. i was very lucky mine didnt burst, but it was very infected and inflamed. I really hope this isnt the case for you, but it is better to catch it early. If the pain moves all over and then generalizes to one area start to worry especially around your belly button. It feels like the worst cramps ever. Also my white blood cell count did not go up until the pain was more then excruciating. so if you start to have the pain worse and no comfort go straight to a hospital. I wish you the best of luck. let me know what happens.

thanks for your reply liltq. i was thinking apendicitis too but the pains on the wrong side for that. I think im going to see if i can get referred back to the hospital for a second opinion because i dont think things should have gone one for this long. its just getting me really down because my husband and i are wanting to try for a baby again as soon as possible and all these problems are just delaying things more.
Didnt mean to scare you Kricket212, im sure you will be fine, the d and c wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be, i just been unlucky afterwards thats all. I didnt get time to rest after mine either because when i came round from my d and c i found out my Grandad had died while i was having it done so had to travel to his house for the funeral. Im sure everything will be fine on Tuesday

I had a natural miscarriage. I bled for 10 weeks before it let up. I kept having persistent pain on my right side for over a week. I thought it was from the miscarriage. It went away and then started in with severe cramp like pain all over my stomach. It didn't let up and it felt like terrible cramps. they lasted for 15 hours before i went to the hospital, I ended up with appendicitis. I'm not saying thats whats going on with you but definitely get it checked again. i thought the pain i was having was from the miscarriage and it turned out not to be the case. I wish you lots of luck. best wishes...
