low progesterone?

Hi there, am on here cuz recently I asked a question as to why after my miscarraige I got a period that wasn't a period but 14days of spotting brown blood. And one of the girls suggested that it could be low progesterone so I was wondering about it. I looked it up and I do have some of the vague symptoms but I have felt many of these symptoms before I ever got pregnant.
Am going to the doctor but I can't wait.
If this is true, is it perminent? Or I can I get treatment? Would I have to have treatment the rest of my life? Or only when I want to be pregnant? Is it dangerous for a fetus even if I get treated?

Can I bring my levels up with food and drink? Like what? How long would I need to be eating these foods? And how much/often? Does low progesterone mean infertile(can get pregnant but not carry full term)
Is that what caused my miscarraige?
And how will the doctor test me for it?

Am sorry but I would really appreciate if anyone could can any questions they are able. This is really important to me and all me and my husband want is a baby.
Thanks

I had progesterone problems with my 1st. You should have an infertility Dr. or a specialist, and do exactly what they say! The 1st tri-mester was  the most important for me, then everything was fine. Lots of restrictions like no sex, or exercise! I did the cream in the morning & the evening. The rest of my pregnancy I did water aerobics & walked our 100LB dog everyday I could and worked on my feet till a week before. She was born right at 40 weeks & 9Lbs! She also ended up with a broken collar bone, because I was too scared to have a C-section. Again, your Dr. knows best. I have been through both, now we have twins, with no progesterone trouble. Good Luck, hope this helps! Remember to relax, enjoy it now.

hi there,
kinda in the same boat as you. curious about progesterone levels in myself too. from what i know you get a blood test to test for levels. my doctor is going to prescribe me pills when i get pregnant again, but its only like a few weeks of pill taking, there is also a cream you can get from  your doctor if you do have a progesterone problem. it would not hurt your baby, it would help your baby. there are two kinds, natural and synthesized progesterone. the natural is just like what your body creates and has no side effects. the synthetic one has possible side effects but from what i read its similar to pregnancy symptoms. from what i understand there is no food you can find that will boost your progesterone. i am taking b vitamins to lengthen my luteal phase but i dont think its quite the same.
you shouldn't need to be treated the rest of your life, just when you want to get pregnant. i don't know if its permanent, i have a son already but am now experiencing issues so i dont know if its comes and goes or what. good question to ask the doctor.
yes low progesterone creates infertility issues but talking about this with your doctor will help. if it is a progesterone issue they will help you the best they can to bring a baby to full term.
best of luck
