Neuropathic Pain...will it worsen as the heat rises?

Hey all!  We have been having some pretty nice weather here the last few days and I finally got outside to get some stuff done.  There was a nice breeze blowing so I didn't get overheated BUT, I am wondering if people with nerve pain have it increase if you get overheated?  This is something I am really afraid of...it is so painful now, I wonder how I will be able to bear it if it increases!  I have a feeling it's probably just the "luck of the draw" as is most things with MS but thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone knows what the probability of it is.

Of course the people that know me know that I am concerned about fishing season!  I have to be able to lob a fly onto the water without suddenly screaming in pain because an imaginary cow poke is branding my foot continuously for 3 minutes at a time.  I am worried too because I am not a fan of falling in the lake but this "branding" would make me do just that!!

Anybody have any input?  Thank you!

Hugs,
Rena

Though any MS symptom can worsen with an increase in core body temp, not all MS patients experience this phenomenon.  My painful hand does get more uncomfortable when my body temp increases, though it's my Lhermitte's, balance and vision that are affected more severely.  The only way I know of to avoid it is to stay as cool as possible.  Staying in the shade, drinking ice cold water, sucking ice chips and periodically rinsing my hands and/or feet in cery cold water helps me a lot.  On very hot days I go outside only in the cooler morning hours, or not at all.

Not to be a downer, but in my experience everything gets worse in the heat!  You might try lidocaine or something on the spots that seem to be a problem.
