Am I expecting too much or am I just a bad patient?

Why don't I get answers from my Neurologist?  I am not diagnosed with anything!

I have several lesions including a linear lesion in the pons

two episodes of sudden temporary loss of vision

abnormal EEG (slowing in left frontal area)

abnormal reflexes and severe memory problems

myoclonus and weird right facial, ear/eye symptoms

balance problems with abnormal neuro-otology test (compatible with left peripheral vestibular lesion)

abnormal audiology testing (both on left side)

neuropathy in right sole of foot, gait problems and walking problems at times.

I also have degenerative disc disease including central canal stenosis which I feel puts the doctors off track as soon as they see my scans.

The answers so far from my neuro include.......

1.    EEG.   Have only ever seen this tracing once before......she came back after 10 years and it was gone!

2.    Balance.   I don't tell everyone but sometimes I have balance problems!  When I'm playing Wii games with the kids i lose balance!!!

3.    DDD.    My spine scans would be as bad as yours...I was on a walking stick in 200? and now I can run marathons!

4.    Lesions.  Non significant......I wouldn't have even noticed the linear (pons) lesion if the report hadn't mentioned it.

And to top off yesterdays visit....... You are going to stay with me aren't you????? Don't go roaming off to see other doctors!!!    Would you not think that if you can't give a patient any answers you would want them to go elsewhere?

He then gave me a request form.......wait for it........a Cardiac CT.    I told him that I thought I had enough abnormal results to contend with at the moment without going looking for more in another medical specialty.

I know what you are all going to say.......  but it feels so good to transfer my feelings from my poor brain to this forum.  Thanks for being there.

Question: "Why don't I get answers from my Neurologist?"

Answer:  "Sounds like an idiot who cheated on his tests through medical school, had no clue in the clinical settings and is worried that you would leave him due to no medical explanation as to why you are having the symptoms you're experiencing which are of a concern.  He minimized your anatomical and physical abnormalities and compared it to his own or someone he knew."

Suggestion:  "Find a real Neurologist."

Sorry for what you've been through.
