Who's On your Dream Team?

Sports teams are dominating the news right now with the likes of things like March Madness brackets and  Spring baseball  opening day fantasy team picks-   it has me thinking about teams and teamwork.

Every MS patient is told to assemble a team to support them - physically and emotionally.

My question is WHO WOULD YOU PICK to be on your team if you had to chose?  Let's make this really interesting and limit you to a basketball sized team - that means you get to pick 5 (no bench sitters, so no extras).

Here's my five - in no particular order of importance

My husband, because he's always on my side even when I'm wrong. And he likes to accompany me to my doctor appts. as my extra ears.

My PCP because she's smart and compassionate and thorough.

My MS Neuro, because he's got the brains to work through future problems and maybe he'll find a cure for this MonSter.

My granddaughter, because no matter what's going on she brings out the best in me and makes me happy and I need someone to help with my emotional side. :-)

My massage therapist, because she keeps my muscles limber and moving, and she was the first person I discussed maybe having MS with- so we have a history with this and she knows my body almost as well as I do.

Who would you pick?

Feel free to name your team or pick a mascot too ...........

Next up!
Lulu

Ess,
You think you could handle both of them on the same team? Wow, I am impressed.

Janette,
Thanks for the all-star pick from you!  That really made my day.

Anyone else out there?

OK - here is who my dream team would be from my family forum

Quix for the added knowledge she always shares in words that I understand

Rena for her desire to bring the hammer out & help protect her family :)

Sunny for the sunshine she shares with all & for being an inspiration to me

Shadowssister for her kind words she shares even when she is down

Lu for keeping me on track & helping me become my best advocate & for keeping the thinking positive!

:)

Ok DV, we have to assess a technical foul against you since you fielded 6 team members.  LOL

I actually thought of adding Lebron James to my list for his athletic talents and his charitable works,  or Sting, because I would leave my husband for him, but I thought that might cause some quibbling amongst my team.

Thinking about some substitutes for my team thought .....

Well, since Ess already called dibs on George and Richard.......

My husband, my rock star

My best friend, because she's been there through all my ups and downs since 8th grade, and makes me laugh, and, being a nurse, her medical insight is always valuable.

My GP: who took me seriously from day one, and makes things happen for me as quickly as possible.

My neuro, because despite my pending possible change of diagnosis, he follows me closely, demonstrates his genuine concern for my well being, answers my questions at the level of detail I need (works better when I do my part and am well prepared) , and is the antithesis of the arrogant neuro stereotype.

My ophtha-neuro, who is young, smart, with a great bedside manner, and with my history of diplopia and ON, and possible Devic's disease, is someone who I may need to rely on more and more in the future

I know we're only allowed 5 but I'm going to add the wonderful young woman who I hired recently to help clean my house.  The less energy I need to expend on my home, the more I have left to contribute at my workplace, to give my husband, and my friends.
