Back from Westwater

Well, I'm back from a crazy whitewater kayaking trip, and after getting my butt kicked soundly, I've decided to keep kayaking to class III or lower and do the heavier stuff on oar/paddle raft. My hubby and I paddled a 2 man inflatable through some amazing white water, and managed to surf a couple of waves.  I got a really long spasm (~20 min.) in both legs after surfing the first one, and luckily, the water was nice and flat when all this was going on.  My husband was great when I was too weak to paddle, and paddled us both while I relaxed in the front half of the kayak.  I thanked him, and he replied "I know you'd do the same for me - that's what partners are for" (awww, ain't that sweet?).  I kept cool with occasional swims, and my cool tie, and the hubster pouring helmets-full of water over me!

I reported the wild stuff to my neuro, including the whack in the head a couple of weeks ago.  He did a brief exam, and said I looked stable to him.  Well, good!

Cheers,

Ok now I'm jealous! :P I haven't been out kayaking at all this year! Maybe next year after my knee is fixed. I should get a new surgery date on the 24th now that my heart has been cleared.

It's kinda empowering, isn't it?  Knowing that you can go and have fun and deal with the symptoms as they come up, without having to worry.

That's sounds like my kind of fun! (With the exception of the 20min spasm) LOL.
