Best slippers for MS sufferers

This sounds like a bizarre question, I know, but I need to know any suggestions of slippers for people with MS.

My mum has MS and wants a new pair of slippers for Christmas.

She needs them to be easy to slip on and off (so no boot or shoe types), they need to be grippy so a good sole is a must BUT they can't be too heavy for when her legs are particularly "loppy".

I was just wondering if anybody had found the perfect pair of slippers that tick all these boxes.

Thanks in advance :)

And, I don't know about AU, but I was able to find these at a major chain store on sale for $10.00.  :)

I am one of those whose feet are always cold and have the same footwear needs as your mum.  I just bought some shoes that I love and use as slippers made by Realtree... the camouflage  company and they were very reasonable.  They are fleece lined, have treaded rubber soles, and the tops are made from camo printed canvas, so they are lightweight.  This is not a style I would wear out in public, but they are perfect for around the house and yard.   You can get them on ebay, but I found mine at a local store.  Perhaps something similar to this would be good.  ~Linda

Does your mom want something warm for her feet?  If so there are some great fleece lined slippers on LL Bean but be careful with those slick leather bottoms.

I personally can't stand to have my feet warm/hot in slippers and even in the winter time I am barefoot - that drives my husband and podiatrist nuts!!   The couple pairs I keep on hand have the light rubber soles and are slipon style.  Absolutely no clog/mule types for me- they are too easy to trip in or walk out of.

I'm sure your mum will appreciate whatever you give her - happy holidays! Laura

I wear Native  American ( First Nation) style moccassins. You will be able to find several choices of moccassins with or without light rubber soles. My feet never get warm summer or winter which I blame on the MS. I wear leather soles in the summer and light rubber sole in winter. And  the sheepskin linings help. They are winderfully light weight. I am in Australia and purchase from Amazon. Delivery is fast and efficient from America. .

What country will you be ordering from? I ask because LL Bean is a US company. Customs can be expensive and judging from your use of the word mum versus mom, you'd likely have to have those shipped to somewhere outside the US. DSW is in Canada too though if that helps.

You absolutely do sound like you've done a great job of picking out the characteristics of the perfect MS slipper though!

I had LL Bean ones I loved. I get a rubber sole and easy slip on. I now have a pair of mukluks with rubber soles from DSW. I even wear them to the mail box.
