Bladder

I'm sorry to bring this up; but.....

I have been trying to do those Kegel exercises so I don't get a weak bladder.

I'm thinking it's too late. Usually after a couple of days of regular "practice" I have things under control.

But this week, no matter what I do, the urine flows unabated. Kegels are not working!!!!! Not even for one second.

Help? Hold longer? More often?

I do not have an incontinence issue though. Just stress leaks (no jump-roping with the kids for me; have to squat or hold my abdomen when I sneeze!!)

Suzanne,
kegel exercises do nothing to strengthen the bladder.  They are done to tighten the vaginal and perineum areas.  You cannot do anything to strengthen the bladder.  I know you can re-train the bladder, but kegels won't do the trick.

In theory, if you strengthen the perineum, it may help, but the bladder isn't getting anything done to it to strengthen it.

Maybe emptying the bladder on a schedule will help.  Don't wait till you have to go...try and go to the bathroom every two hours, then in a week or two, every two and a half hours etc.  And take sips of liquids, no gulping.

Hi, now bare in mind I am really new like today! but I had this problem and had to have a hysterectomy and heard about a ribbon they can put in to hold my bladder in place so no more leaks. I was going to have surgeryanyway so I did it then. Not sure if it would help you or not but it was my miracle! I don't ever leak and it is done laporscopy. (spelling not my strong suit).
Like I said I am new but if you can get this  I LOVE IT. sorry don't have a technical name for it now my brain is no longer working but someone will know here I am sure.
