Breathing problems

Hi everyone. Just wanted to know if anyone has ever had MS linked breathing problems.
Its like through the night i wake up and feel like i cant breathe deeply enough or often enough. Its hard to explain the feeling but that's about the best i can do.
My doc has me on an asthma inhaler and a preventative inhaler, that seem to ease it, but i was wondering seeing ive never experienced it before, if it could be the MS?
Anyone else experienced this and had it diagnosed as an MS related thing?

Hi, I have had this problem were I wake up and can not breathe. It has happened 3 times now, when I am sleeping well and no stress or anything. But it seems like it happens when I am in a relapse, and I often get a tight feeling in my neck like something is not working right.

Last week I did a "blowingtest?" (don´t know the English word) and it was a little bit abnormal, like I did not blow out everything I was supposed to. But I don´t know if this is related. I hope you will find out what is happening to you.
My best,
Dagun

Thanks Dagun.
My problems doesnt sound as severe as yours but along the same kind of thing. I dont think mine is stress related although i do have times where theres a fair amount of stress in my life.
I hope that with the results of you respiration test (im not sure of the correct name for it) you get some answers and help for your breathing difficulties as well.

Ive had the test too, and mine was really good, so thats not the problem which led me to think of the MS as a possible cause.
Guess i'll have to wait till i see the doc for the next step.

Ive spoken to my doctor about it and she's given me an inhalers to try out to see if they help which they do.
I see her again in a week or so , so will see where i go from here.

I get diaphragm spasms. It is like I have had the wind knocked out of me. It goes in waves. I sweat profusely and the only comfortable position is on the ground on my back with my arms straight over my head. I have to be perfectly still. I take a disolving  ALprazalom. I can't talk sometimes I am weak for days after.

I've had air hunger for a long time. I've gone through testing and there's nothing wrong with my respiration. My breathing out seems a bit weak, but intake is just fine. Could possibly be weakness in the diaphragm. I also have a lesion on the pons.

Am wondering if a sleep study might shed some light on your problem.  Sleep Apnea can be dangerous, not to frighten you, but it might be worth checking out.

Also interested in the answer -- I'm in limbo have have been fighting this thing for almost a month now --inhaler makes it worse though.  I've had a whole bunch of tests and now a referral to a lung specialist -- so far everything is normal (except for the rib tightness/chest pain/breathing part).

The term for not feeling you are getting enough oxygen is "air hunger" according to my doctor.
