Can you have MS with brain lesions but other tests negative

Hi going into my third year pre diagnosis - had two MRI’s both with white matter changes to my left frontal lobe. All other tests lumbar etc have come back negative, although I was referred to cardiology and they found mild dilation to my ascending aorta. I still experience numbness etc head pain, restriction at times to left side/arm which lasts for under a minute each time.  I also gave a cough which won’t go away and some memory and speech issues - just wait my third MRI can anyone have MS with negative test results

The likelihood of someone having a neurological condition like MS without having any corroborating abnormal diagnostic evidence and or abnormal clinical signs would be exstreemly low.

I'd expect anyone who'd be dx-ed without even the basic MS evidence would find themselves classified as misdiagnosed if the diagnostic evidence still wasn't there a year or 2 later.

The symptoms youve mentioned are fairly common so a neurological condition like MS wouldnt usually be at the top of the potential causes list so if no conclusive evidence shows up again, all i can think of is to consider looking into MS mimics instead.

Thank you for your reply - I’m hoping my next MRI shows no extra white lesions and yes doctors are ruling out other possible causes - I’m just hoping this year I’ll have a diagnosis
