Carrie, never worry about asking questions! Being in limbo is very difficult, and it's hard to figure out what to do when the doctors are telling you there's nothing wrong with you.
With 20+ lesions not typical of MS, I'm guessing that the neurologists are saying either migraines or age-related lesions, right?
It's possible that your 20+ lesions are causing the buzzing, tingling, and numbness sensations without it being MS. Neurological damage is neurological damage, no matter where it came from. Your facial symptoms are suspicious of MS, mainly because MS attacks the nerves of the head first.
I can't say that my MS symptoms started all at once, because it really kinda crept up on me. I had been having phantom sensations, chest cramps, and numbness for years. I started having cognitive problems in 2006, and in 2007 went to the doctor for buzzing in my chin. I had my first flare in 2007, and lots of symptoms showed up.
Sorry! I know this isn't much help.
So where are your lesions located on the MRI? Lesions located near the vascular spaces are more typical for MS. Especially if they're oval or round in shape.
Hey Carrie,
Sorry you still don't have a dx. Bummer. Some of your sx sound like mine (tingling in different areas of my body and some twitching from time to time, vibrations). No scalp buzzing for me but you know that everyone experience is different.
Have you had a spinal MRI? What do they think it is at this point if not supecting MS?
Julie
