Curious about symptoms

My family Dr. sent me to a neurologists (I had to wait 6 months for the appt.) when I showed up July 2nd for the appt. the office was not open. I did not get a call to cancel my appt. and took a day off work to drive 2 yrs into the city for nothing. So I am now waiting for a referral to another neurologist. In the mean time I have developed more symptoms. Any input would be appreciated, I have been doing research on my symptoms and MS is one of the things that comes up.

My symptoms started as clumsiness with my hands, dropping things a lot and tremors which were worse in the mornings. These were the issues I was to see the neurologist about.

Since then I now get a restless feeling in my arms off and on, and pins & needles like my arms and hands have fallen asleep. I get pain in my feet off and on also lasting a few days to a week then it goes away. And for the last few months I have had a tremor in my neck when I lie down or lean a certain way when I am sitting down. My right eye goes blurry a lot almost like something is floating over my eye, very irritating. I am exhausted all the time and fall asleep on the couch by 7:30 most nights. (I work 9 hrs a day in a daycare but it never used to affect me this way) I also have dizzy spells sporadically, I've been sick with colds and flu almost once a month since December of last year and I get a lot of headaches.

Has anyone had any or all of these symptoms with a diagnosis of MS? I appreciate any help you can offer as I wait who knows how long for another specialist appt.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME ON THE DRs OFFICE!!!!   That is insane.  I would definately get another referal ASAP.
As far as the symptoms I can relate to most all of them.  And the worst of my sx started back in March with ON then progressed to 2 horrendous migraines one sent me to the ER.  I still have daily headaches.
Can your PCP give you something to help manage some of the sx?  I have been on Gabapentin for the nerve pain and numbness. And it helps with my headaches It doesn't take it all away but makes a huge diff.
Also Klonopin for my muscle spasms etc.
I do take Acetyl L-Carnitine and Alpha Lipoic Acid for fatigue which helps alot. That you can get at any drug store. I get mine at WalMart in the combo rather then buying them seperate and take 2-4 a day as it says on the bottle.
I was hesitent at first on the others as they are powerful and even considered stopping them because they make you dizzy and even drowsy but once I did adjust to them I am fine now.
I have tried Baclofen from my Neuro but have had a severe allergic reaction.  I just got my DX of RRMS this week 7/12/2010 and will be looking into dif meds for these issues that may be better suited for the sx.
But in the mean time (till next week) when I go back to make a desion on DMDs I still take them and wouldn't go a day without even missing one dose.
This is just my experience and am in no way advocating any medications but just sharing my experience.  And how they have helped and made me more comfortable through the  past months.  Not made all go away.    Good luck on getting a referal.  It is discouraging at times I can relate.

Hi briar -

I just wanted to say, whoa - about the doctor's office, seriously?  I bet you are pretty frustrated now.  Uggghhhhh....

I'm afraid I'm probably no good with the questions about tremors and your other symptoms - I just wanted to bump your post up, and say - about that doctor's office - seriously?!!!  Six months is a long time, and waiting for appointments is EXCRUCIATING - ah, man, I am sorry!  I hope you treated yourself to ice cream or something.  Or shoes.

Hugs,

Louey
