Do medical codes mean anything?

Does it mean anything if neuro was using code for demylinating disease and suddenly starts using ms code?

As far as i'm aware, the code used is generally justification for the type of tests the doctor wants you to have, and has no relevance to diagnosis as such but what your being assessed for eg heart disease = heart disease code, unspecified demyelingating disease = demyelingating disease code, MS = MS code etc

lol did that make sense?

Cheers.........JJ

Weird, huh?!  And just how can MS be improving?? That seems really odd. Mine writes stuff like 'assess burden of disease' which is weird too!! Oh well. Must check to see if you got your cognitive results back.

My neuro has not officially diagnosed me but he sends my claims with a dx code of MS or Unspecified demylineating disease.

On the reports under assessment he usually writes:  MS: improved, Unspecified demylineating disease: improved.  Don't you just love the confusion of limboland?
