Question about injections

Last night I injected betaseron in my right thigh . . . and I realized I never feel the shot in this leg (I'm not sure about the left?).  I do feel a little puncture with all of the other injection sites.  Is the thigh simply an easier injection, or do I have decreased nerve sensation??  If so, should I address this with the neuro or mark it up as one more MS thing?

I have thought about that.  My belly is large, and does not feel much......I could go for a year and never hit the same spot twoce  lol :-)

I know it is not possible, but it would sure be nice to give all of the injections in an area where you can't feel them :)

I don't feel the ones in my right arm.  But I am not really numb there either.  I would mention it on  your next visit anyway.  Try all of the spots on that thigh; see if it is all over, or just at the height you chose this time.

I have numb patches all over my body, so some injections hurt more than others.  I just write it off to the MS - I have symptoms that cause me a lot more trouble than numb skin!

To give you some idea . . . I didn't believe the autoinjector had worked, until I heard the sound it makes.  I was surprised to see the drop of blood, when I lifted the injector.  I felt none of it????  My leg is not numb to the touch, but it is the leg I've had the most issues with.

Hi Sherry,

While there are some spots that are felt less, I'd say it's strange if you are not feeling it at all. You should feel something no matter what - even though it you are not experiencing pain.

I'd bring it up to the Dr. I do feel mine quite a bit in my thighs.  The skin is tougher and it's harder to get the needle through the skin there.  I'm surprised that's the spot you are not feeling...

Maybe you're just getting really good at it - LOL.

Seriously though I find my thighs the most painful place to inject, not that it can be really called painful but I feel it more there than anywhere else, particularly my left thigh. I had also wondered if this could be an MS thing, maybe increased sensation in my case.
