Help for effects of hot weather

Anyone who  lives in a hot climate have any tips for dealing with it? I am newly diagnosed with MS and finding the effects of hot weather very painful. It's difficult to do errands at almost any time of the day because of getting in a hot car after each one.  I find that my symptoms, mostly pain, return with exposure to heat.

Any tips would be very much appreciated!

Do things as early in the day as you can. If you do not have a handicap placard get one so you do not need to walk as far. Put a ball cap in the freezer after getting it damp, bandana, they even have scarves with beads.

Hi jc and welcome to our little MS community,

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis....what happens to you with heat exposure (Uhthoff's phenomenon) is unique to you and its one of the things that can take some juggling and time to work out what helps you the most, there are products that keep your body cooler eg  Cooling Vest, neck wraps, hand held fans etc that you could give a try..

Hope that helps.......JJ
