How long does it , take for MS to make a person bed ridden?

ARe we getting closer to a cure?

Hi and welcome,

I was a little taken back by your heading question, as Alex mentioned being 'bed ridden' is not the norm, i think you'll find the number of MSers (historically) who become  permanently 'bed ridden' due to complete immobility is so low, it would be classified as being pretty rare. Sure the science is getting closer but until they work out what actually causes MS, a cure is probably still a long way off from reality, it is coming though...

Most people with MS do not become bed ridden with the disease modifying medications. It does happen but it is not the norm. Fewer MSers will even be in wheelchairs than there were in previous times. They have to find out what MS is to get close to the cure. I am in a study trying to come up with a blood test to find MS.
