In the process of being diagnosed again for MS

Hi. First time here.  In 2008 I was sent to the MS clinic for symptoms of MS. Numbness, tingling of extremities, falls, periods of forgetfulness, difficulty walking.  Would happen in for a week or two.  Go away for awhile then start up again.  Had an MRI which showed 1 lesion. Was told it was most likely related to poor sleep and not MS.  Now to the present I was sent to the hospital for a TIA and the neurologist happened to be the head of the MS clinic and he recalled who I was.  Since he has last seen me my walking has gotten worse, I have muscle spams, blurred vision, increased left sided weakness, bladder, Ibs issues, problems with memory.  Had a 3 hour appt. which included work up and blood work.  Scheduled as of today for a T3 MRI of C and T Spine and LP.   ( Hoping that won't have to be done) but nothing is ever easy for me. I know there isn't a cure, it would just be a relief to have an answer and a plan. Thanks for letting me rant.  It's been a long week

You have been waiting a very long time. I really hope you get an answer soon. There is no cure but there are plenty of drugs to slow progression. They can also treat your symptoms better. Keep us posted.

Hi and welcome to our little MS community,

I bet its been a long week! Try if you can to keep in mind that it still may not be a neurological condition like MS, there are many medical conditions that cause same/similar symptoms.

The neurologist is potentially focusing on a spinal explanation if he's scheduled the MRI on just your spine, that would make sense with the symptoms you've experienced being associated with spinal issues......it doesn't necessarily mean spinal cord lesions, it could be structural etc

Do you know if he found clinical abnormalities during your assessment?

Hope that helps......JJ

I am so sorry that's hard to read I'm using voice text because he was so much to write and it hurts me too bad to type so much mainly what I'm asking is if you bad pains in your hands that starts out tingling and numbness that is like pins and needles that comes and goes unannounced without warning or cause. Sometimes it'll wake me up at of a dead sleep other times I'll be pain-free but I'll be holding an object it seems like then it's worse

Hi debbie627, im sorry to hear how you live your life in constant pain.  I came here looking for an answer to my problem when i came across your rant and i wanted to ask you about the pains youve had to compare to mine.  I am 32 and a female. I havent been diagnosed with anything or have i seen a dr. Epic for about a year-and-a-half now I have been having very intense pain in both of my hands they can be described as tingling or numbness but didn't um this isn't where I can't feel anything it's where all I feel is pain pins and needles and burning in my hands and their pains actually travel up my arms but mostly staying my hands right now other times I can be holding objects it seems like if I'm holding something the pain gets a lot worse then and it will wake me up out of a dead sleep sometimes it's that intense and other times I could have no pain at all and I may be holding an object or anything and suddenly I will have a shot go through my hands but it feels like it's in my nerves it could be my tendons I'm not sure but if my tendons or minor was worried rubber band it feels like somebody is popped how you would pop a rubberband it feels like my nerves have done that knows a sharp pain that vibrates in my hand or it could be described as maybe an electric shock or zap. Does any of this sound familiar to you? if you could please answer my question  if you experienced any of the same feelings I just described that would be very much so appreciated thank you again and I hope things get better for you.
