Kinda OT: MS hug mimics?

Hi, all-

I was wondering if any of you all know of what could mimic an MS hug.  Especially if the person is having headaches and memory loss and poor sleeping patterns.   She has also been experiencing hives.  This person is female, age 15, who has a history of sexual abuse.

I suspect PTSD...maybe panic attacks?  What do you think?

I will say she just got a referral to a neuro and has an MRI and C-scan scheduled.

Thanks,
Addi

Thanks, you two.

Michelle, yes she has been to her pcp.  She prescribed her with a couple scrips for the hives and sent out the referral for neuro.   She also requested the MRI and C-scan.

Bob, yeah that's where my thoughts went, too.  She has been in counseling for a couple months now.  But I believe this counselor is actually doing a disservice to her.  Long story.

Thanks again,
Addi

In teens and young adults (male and female), costalchondritis (Inflammation of the cartilage of the rib cage) is a common cause of chest pain.

PTSD by itself could explain headaches, memory loss and poor sleeping patterns. While seeing a Neurologist might be reasonable to rule of a neurologic problem, a history of sexual abuse with "generalized subjective complaints" in the absence of other neurologic signs suggests that an evaluation by a mental health professional should also be sought.

I dont know, but I am sorry she has had such trauma in her life. Has she been to her PCP?

Wishing her well,
