I had an MRI performed yesterday and these were the findings. It makes no sense to me and my internet searches are reflecting the fact that I don't have a degree in medicine. Any help would be appreciated.
REPORT START - Note: I added the stuff in the parenthesis just for clarification of why I had the MRI to begin with.
Cerebral MRI performed with and without contrast enhancement:
Loss of balance and coordination. (I fall over if I stand with my feet together, I wobble or fall backwards if I close my eyes while standing, I can barely manage to squat, can't walk heel to toe, can't stand on one foot, headaches, ringing ears, light sensitivity, problems swallowing, etc)
Standard adult head protocol was utilized. 9 cc of Gadavist were administered intravenously.
No evidence of ventricular enlargement, recent infarction, intracranial hemorrhage or mass is identified. A small enhancing developmental venous anomaly is observed within the posterior aspect of the left cerebellum on the postcontrast T1-weighted sequences.
On the FLAIR/T2 weighted axial sequences, a punctate focus of low-grade signal hyperintensity is observed within the left frontal subcortical white matter, consistent with a focus of nonspecific gliosis.
Findings consistent with a small cavum septum pellucidum/cavum vergae cyst are incidentally noted.
Minimal mucosal thickening is present within the lower portions of both maxillary sinuses and within scattered ethmoid sinuses. The paranasal sinuses are otherwise clear.
An 8mm Thornwaldt cyst is incidentally noted within the posterior nasopharynx.
END REPORT:
Can anyone help me out with what this actually means? Thank you in advance.
